Masakazu Morita report!

Hey all! Here is my report from meeting and seeing Masakazu Morita! I’ve decided to reblog this post to fuckallmaleseiyuu so you all can read how wonderful of a person he is!

Also, here are two pictures I sneaked from seeing him in the halls after the panel…

And here is a picture of him at the autograph signing, along with what I got signed!

Thanks for reading!

skyyma:

I’m making this report while I’m at the airport. I just have so many things to say about this man.

When I used to be obsessed with bleach, I watched all the Seiyuu events for it. I remember how Morita was so energetic and hilarious.

Even after I fell out of love for Bleach, I stayed in love with Morita. He’s done such great characters and he’s still so extremely talented. I’m now super obsessed with Tiger and Bunny and even own figures and multiple artbooks for it. He continues to impress me with each roll he does.

I remember watching videos of him at SakuraCon and was more impressed. So this made me super excited to see him live at anime expo.

His panel was…. Amazing. He continues to impress me. Morita is amazing to his fans. He’s lighthearted and down to earth as well as super energetic and has a great sense of humor.

The first question he received was about kendo and his experience in martial arts. He said he had been doing martial arts since he was 3 and I had no idea. He then did a kendo demonstration with a rukia cosplayers katana. He taught us how to properly hold a katana. I sure hope it shows up in the video the press took of him. Before he did the demonstration, he said the question was a great start to the panel. The next question he got was about his Seiyuu school for young adults. He told us that he was trying to keep it a secret and even people in Japan didn’t know this and he was shocked that we knew it. He went through a description about what the Seiyuu school entails for students and I was blown away by how responsible he seemed and am even more impressed with his teaching skills. Because the first two questions were super long, he was only able to answer two more. They had started the panel a half an hour late and did not extend it. I was in line to ask a question but was unable to.

At the end of the panel, he shouted bankai and it was so great. I was flooded with bleach memories from his previous Seiyuu events. We then all took a huge group photo with him and he put on a Barnaby jacket from a cosplayer. To this day I consider Barnaby Brooks Jr to be one of his best roles ever. He posted the picture on his twitter account.

At the end a raffle was held to get an autograph voucher. My friend won and she was so happy about actually winning something. She gave me her winning ticket because she knew I am a big fan of his. He was shaking hands at the end of the panel and my friend went up and shook his hand.

The next day I was 6th in line to get his autograph. Unfortunately the marker he used did not show up that well but you can still see it. He was once again so happy and energetic.

This was the best celebrity experience I have ever had. Oh also, outside of his panel he was in the hall signing things by a trash can. I took picture of him from afar. I felt bad and so I went up near him and asked in Japanese if I could take a picture with my fancy camera. His agents around him said no photographs and I felt super embarrassed. I will post the other picture once I get home so you can see him signing things in the hallway.

Last year I met Inoue Kazuhiko and I also had a great experience with him. He personally spoke to me and said my name. I then was able to give him a fan letter I typed up. However his panel was not good at all due to multiple bad questions from fans about a series he did 20 years ago and also a terrible translator. His signing day was great too. So so far I have met two Seiyuus that I love and have had great experiences with. This will definitely be remembered for the rest of my life.

Happy Birthday, MiyuMiyu! <3

sorry to be picky but i don't want people to get this wrong. on this post /post/20780135140 it says that Kimura acts as Kasamatsu in Kuroko's Basketball but that's wrong. He does Kise Ryouta's role; the one that plays Kasamatsu is Hoshi Soichiro
